Both leaders are in Queensland today and will most likely spent a few days there. The PM will launch his campaign from Brisbane on Sunday.
Yesterday Mr Morrison made a quick stop to the NSW electorate of Cowper, speaking at a seniors forum, followed by a round of bingo. With Luke Hartsuyker retiring at this election, the race in this seat will be one to keep an eye on as former independent MP Rob Oakeshott is a candidate.
Rob was the former member for Lynne and retired in 2013. He’s contesting Cowper this time because a significant part of Lynne was shifted to Cowper in a redistribution a few years ago.
Bill Shorten visited the seat of Petrie meeting cancer patients and then travelled to the nearby seat of Bonner to visit factory workers. Labor will today release election costings for its policies, more than a week out from the election.
Both leaders spent the yesterday in scare campaign mode with the Liberals reflecting on the franking credit changes and Labor focusing on the preference deal with Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson.
